A safe, calm space to make sense of what you've been carrying.
Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially if you've been coping alone for a long time. I offer warm, non-judgemental therapy at a pace that feels right for you, in Wrexham, Chester, online or by phone.

Hello, I'm Sara.
I'm a qualified Counselling Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. For over 20 years I've supported people through trauma and distress, in mental health services, domestic abuse agencies, sexual abuse recovery programmes and substance misuse services.
I specialise in trauma and Complex PTSD, at any stage of life. Together we look at how past experiences may still be shaping how you feel today, and build the understanding, resilience and self-compassion to move forward. I also have extensive experience of supporting people affected by narcissistic abuse in relationships and families.
There's no one-size-fits-all in my work. Whether you come with something specific, or just a sense that things don't feel right, I'll work alongside you in a way that fits you. Trust, empathy and respect are at the heart of it, so you can bring your whole self.
Different approaches, shaped around you
My core training is person-centred. Alongside that I draw on three approaches that many of my clients find helpful.
Schema therapy
Looks at the deep patterns, or "schemas", that often form in childhood and still play out in how we think, feel and relate to others. We notice them, understand where they came from and loosen their hold.
Transactional analysis
Uses the simple idea of our Parent, Adult and Child "ego states" to explore how we communicate and why some relationships get stuck in the same loops, so you can choose different responses.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
Helps you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, reframe unhelpful thinking, and take steps towards what really matters to you.
I also bring in CBT and mindfulness where they help. Not sure which is right for you? You don't need to know. We'll work that out together.
